Sinterklaas Hudson Valley is a wonderful puppet-filled event that celebrates the coming of Christmas by offering one week of free fun for an entire community. Every year, the event brings new events and characters to dazzle the Hudson Valley community, honor children and bring light to the darkest time of the year. Festivities draw on the Hudson Valley’s Dutch heritage, but with some modern day twists. The first edition of Sinterklaas in the Hudson Valley occurred over 20 years ago and was then called “Dutch Christmas.” Envisioned by artistic visionary and event creator Jeanne Fleming, the master behind NYC’s Village Halloween Parade. Thousands come from all over the Northeast and the world to celebrate.
